A floor that earns its silence.
We don't make timber louder. We take it as it is and let that be enough.
Ten timbers, each its own temperament.
Every colour, hardness and grain pattern behaves differently underfoot, our team can talk through which suits the light, traffic and style of your project.
Grain is not a pattern. It's a record.
Every board carries the actual history of the tree it came from, not a print, not a repeat, not a decision made in a factory somewhere else. What you're standing on is what grew there.
We work only in solid, structural hardwood, graded and finished by hand, because a material this honest doesn't need to be dressed up to be trusted.
Built to be refinished, not replaced.
A solid timber floor can be sanded back and brought to life again, decade after decade. It's one of the few surfaces in a home that ages toward character rather than away from it.
That's the quiet luxury of the material itself, durability that doesn't announce itself, and never needs to be argued for.
How much of the tree you choose to see.
Grading is not a hierarchy of quality, every grade is structurally sound. It's a decision about how much natural character sits on the surface, made with you before a single board is cut.
The least natural feature of any grade, occasional small gum veins or pin holes remain, because even the cleanest board is still, unmistakably, timber.
Small to medium gum veins, occasional pin holes, tight knots and soft swirls, the balance most people choose when they want a floor that reads as natural, not staged.
Gum veins, gum pockets, small knots and slight surface checking, left fully visible. Machined and structured identically to Select, simply less filtered.
The full Select yield from a run, joined by the finest boards from Standard. Most often specified in wider formats, where consistency carries real weight.
The lower half of the Standard run, joined with Feature grade boards for a floor that leans into presence rather than restraint.
Our own development, Standard, Feature, Cover and Homestead grades combined, supplied only as tongue and groove flooring, for maximum character at an accessible cost.
A Select-looking board carrying handling marks from production. Priced in line with Feature grade.
Larger gum veins, knot holes and surface checking. Not recommended for a polished finish, best suited to applications where character outweighs consistency.
The coating decides how the timber lives.
Durability, maintenance and finished look are a trade-off worth making deliberately, our team will talk it through before you commit.
The highest durability, film build and gloss available with the strongest odour during application and a risk of edge bonding between boards.
The most common choice today, low odour, lower edge-bond risk, and a natural finish. Products such as Loba Invisible now read as though nothing is on the floor at all.
Natural oil and wax blends with very low volatility, some meeting Green Building Council of Australia guidelines. A natural look, in exchange for more regular maintenance.
A lower-budget coating that can darken or yellow with age, particularly under rugs and coverings.
A spirit-based waterborne coating with a small urethane portion, good edge bond resistance at a mid-range price, with some tendency to yellow over time.
